Dvira began working in the industry for a handful of world renown design firms in New York and Toronto. In 2006, Dvira participated in a design-based reality show called ‘From the Ground Up’, Season 2 with Debbie Travis.

After beating out 9,000 applicants and 14 finalists, Dvira became Debbie Travis’ Chief designer. She was awarded the prize to design and develop 10 Show Homes for Tribute Communities. Following that success, Dvira established her own design firm while getting further involved in design programming on HGTV. She became the designer on the Unsellables for two season, and moved into being the designer and art director for 4 seasons of Income Property with Scott Mcgillivray on HGTV.
Aside from her work experiences, she has always been actively involved in various projects related to the design field, from curating Art exhibitions in New York and Toronto to building homes in El Salvador for those in need and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
Dvira began her design education at the University of Toronto, Canada in 1998-2001 where she undertook a Major in Architecture and a Minor in Fine Art History. Following that, she completed a Master of Science Degree in Interior Design at Pratt Institute, New York.
From Childhood Dvira always expressed her desires and admirations for design, and was always exposed to a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds. She was born in Israel to a Russian-born Mother and a Father of Egyptian descent. Prior to moving to Toronto, Canada, where she currently resides, she lived in Belgium for the most part of her youth. Having been exposed to various cultures has led her to appreciate and understand many different aspects of design. It has expanded her analytical capabilities and had broadened her interest and respect for this field, which in turn has pushed her to want to achieve more, learn more and become skilful, innovative and talented at whatever she strives to accomplish.
I believe that whether you are an Architect, an Interior Design or any other member of the general public, experiencing Design must be done with the use all of our 5 human sense (seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting). When designing I work at previewing the sensations that will take place in the three dimensional space.
Love and passion for design drives me to consistently pursue my visions. For me, Design is to imagine, and imagination allows my subconscious to distribute my ideas.
Engaging in a foresight of the three dimensional is one that I employ with consideration of innovative development. Design is about creating beauty, and such attraction to the spaces we inhabit are continuously modified to suit our current times and our ever changing palate. In order to make these spaces unique I am always on the prowl to examine elements that have never been exercised before. I always believe that it is important to look at the basic essentials and elaborate them once the basics have been established. Keeping simple components to a design allows for a barrier free plan and permits the carefully selected decorative and architectural finishes to speak for themselves.
Having a strong eye and the ability to see the materials come to life is a very crucial ingredient in successful design. I love materials and feel like a kid again when I get to put my schemes and palates together for a space. I feel that a simple plan can come to life simply by making a statement with material application. Using original and fresh materials is something that I am constantly determined to peruse. No two spaces should be alike and exploring their individuality is what makes true design so unique.

My approach to Design is that it must be beautiful yet functional at the same time, the two simply go hand in hand and without each other there is a missing link in the final product.
Design is my life and my enthusiasm is creating. Being able to bring about something radical is what I strive for on a daily basis as a Designer and as an individual.
